Why We Cannot Offer Refunds
ExplainKit uses third-party AI providers to generate images. When you use a credit, we incur an immediate, non-recoverable cost with our upstream AI provider. Because these costs cannot be refunded to us, we are unable to pass refunds on to you.
Try Before You Buy
Every new account receives 10 free credits at signup — no credit card required. We strongly recommend using your free credits to evaluate the service before purchasing a paid plan.
Exceptions
We may, at our sole discretion, issue a refund or credit in the following cases:
- Duplicate charges: If you were accidentally billed more than once for the same subscription period
- Service failure: If a critical platform outage prevented you from using any credits during an entire billing period and we were unable to resolve the issue
Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard:
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- You retain access and unused credits until the period ends
- No partial refunds are issued for the remaining time in a billing period
Disputed Charges
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at support@explainkit.com before filing a chargeback with your bank. We can resolve most billing issues quickly. Chargebacks filed without contacting us first may result in account suspension.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Material changes affecting existing subscriptions will be communicated via email.
